5 Years of Bullet Journaling

Hello Sunshine!

Today marks a special occasion because today I have officially completed 5 years of Bullet Journaling!

FIVE! YEARS!

Today is my 5 year Bullet Journal anniversary!

That’s about 1,825 days! Most of which were, in fact, days that I used my Bullet Journal.

It seems incredible that I’ve stuck to a system for this long. I remember way back before all of this I was jumping from system to system, analog to digital and back again along with a combination of sorts. And now here I am! Not only sticking with something for this long, but sharing about it and teaching tips and techniques along the way!

Not to mention sticking to a single kind of notebook! Seems like only yesterday that I was perusing the store shelves for another notebook and another…or was that last week hehe. I’ve been using the Leuchtturm1917 notebooks to Bullet Journal in this entire time. From the very beginning in 2014 when I’d first heard of Leuchtturm1917 and hunted them down in local shops that only had them in two colors, to ordering them online in different colors in 2015, to when the Bullet Journal edition came out in late 2015! Since then, I’ve received what seems like a boatload of Bullet Journals from the kindness of Ryder Carroll to have and to give away.

Here’s my beautiful shelf full of Bullet Journals with five years worth of memories.

Celebrating 5 years of Bullet Journaling

Celebrating 5 years of Bullet Journaling

I have filled up 25 Bullet Journals over the past 5 years. I have written 25 volumes that encompass the story of my life. Those Bullet Journals have been through pretty much all of the ups and downs of the last 5 years.

Like I once shared with Ryder, which he quoted in his book, The Bullet Journal Method:

Each Bullet Journal contributes another volume to a library of your life.

In addition to those 25, I have also had 5 Bullet Journal Sidekicks, 5 Blog and Business Bullet Journals, and 5 Mock-up Bullet Journals (one is full of examples for my popular Weekly Layout inspiration article and another has example layouts for my 100 Days of Bullet Journal Ideas series). For a total of 40 Bullet Journal-related Bullet Journals of sorts over the past 5 years.

(I also like to count my 1 original Bullet Journal that I had tried the system out with in 2013 for a few weeks before putting it down only to pick it up again a year later, so technically 41. How crazy is that?! 41 in 6 years. But I digress.)

I have more fun things I want to share with you, but for now I want to say Thank You.

From the depths of my heart, Thank You.

I am grateful that you’ve been on this Bullet Journal journey with me. It’s been a lot of fun writing articles, snapping photos, sharing experiments, and getting to meet so many wonderful people around the world online, in person, and through letters.

I want to say a special thank you to Ryder Carroll for introducing the Bullet Journal to the world in the first place, for if he hadn’t I wouldn’t be here in this way and we wouldn’t have met! The Bullet Journal has enriched my life in ways I never could have imagined. My Bullet Journals have seen me through a lot joy and a lot of pain and the adventures in between.

I’m happy to celebrate this special milestone with you!

Thank you!
