Idea 88: Write down your Intentions for the Day/Week/Month/Quarter/Year
Write down your Intentions for the Day/Week/Month/Quarter/Year
Are you intentional with your time?
Do you wake up every morning and have a clear understanding of what you want to achieve each day?
I admit, a lot of times I create ambitious lists full of tasks that I know that I need to get done, yet sometimes the enormity of the lists overwhelms me. Breaking down tasks into their smallest components is definitely a useful strategy, as is defining 'why' you're doing each task.
Another strategy is to consider your intentions for the day. If you only have one intention for the day, that's fine too. Some days I need to take a personal day to get out and enjoy a day at the beach or a take a long bike ride and on those days my intention is self-care.
Some days, I wake up full of zeal and get straight to work.
Some days, there are so many thoughts bursting that I need to immediately list out the things in my mind and possibly even enjoy a nice journaling session to help me figure out the direction of the day. In this way, I'm intentionally journaling.
Some days I write out my intentions at the top of my daily to-do list as a reminder to help me get things done. I find that this little message to myself acts as a little pep-talk that helps guide me and it also allows me to meet myself with grace and acceptance of what I do accomplish.
Being intentional with what you choose to do is challenging, but when you consider what you can accomplish, you'll be more effective and be able to spread your energy to the things that matter.
What is your intention for today?
